ncloth create collider error

#1

Hi Guys,

Working on a little ncloth simulation. I have a banner with two weights attached to the bottom of it which pull it down. Then a passive collider that pushes it up from the bottom and drops it. (To look like it’s fall down and “unraveling”)

I tried to add another passive collider cube for a wall behind the banner and i’m getting an error:

creatNsystem.mel line 55: The aatribute ‘time1.outTime’ cannot be connected to "nrigidshape4.currentTime.

I’ve tried making it passive at frame one. Deleting the cache. I already have a collider created in the scene I have no idea why it won’t let me create a second one. I understand nodes as they relate to shaders quite a bit but when it comes to ncloth I don’t know much about the nodes.

Any pointers?

Thanks,

-Ethan

I have no idea what your problem is, but I would start by:

1- see if there is something already connected in nrigidshape4.currentTime by graphing its connections in the hypershade or so
2- look in the outliner, disable display dag objects only and make sure there is nothing wrong with your time1 node… although this is almost impossible
3- make sure everything is connected to the same nucleus system

Just a few ideas, you probably have tried everything. Usually here I prefer to restart things over than spending hours to debug when its possible. Have you tried a simulation with Bullet? It’s not a proven solution like nCloth but it’s multi-threaded - way faster. Until they make nCloth multi-threaded I prefer to work with bullet if possible…
