Nature series

#1

Hello everybody
I’m actually working on some nature images. the plan is to do four stills of the same landscape in different seasons. The first two are summer and autum. At the moment the winter image is in production, I plan to update here, when the first assets are done.
So feel free to comment, it’s really a learning thing for me to do and to improve skills and working on different themes.

Really nice. I can’t wait to see the winter scene, snow is tough to pull off (atleast realistic snow).

The plan is to use displacement as the main modifier for the surface and to give vray-flakes-layer a try.

First snow Test without the use of displacment.
The flake-layer is ok, it has some limitations, but I think it adds some nice reflections.
The displacement is also ready, but at the moment, it takes really long to render. There must be some optimization potential.
C&C welcome.

i like the snow on the first one, really nice

Thank you, it’s nearly the same material, just with different reflection and bump strength.
Tests will go on.

But it seems really empty here in the forum. Where is everyone?

I can only speak for myself. I post when I’m done with my freelance/personal jobs. Most of these guys are professionals, so they could be really busy. Anyway, I’m planning on entering a christmas cg contest so I might try the vray flake material. I never used it before and it looks like alot of fun

I know right? Years ago it was so busy in all the forums, maybe people are bored of it? Also the quality of the work got a lot closer, it’s harder to get a “wow” these days.

Used to be super busy and fun here around 2000-2005.

So, finally some Updates.
The images are finished by now, I know there are still improvements possible, but as testing pieces, they have done their duties.
You can find the three pictures here
