Recent Matte painting I did as a personal project. Vancouver Art Gallery retaken by nature.
Not 100% finished yet as I feel I have to pay more attention to minor details.

Hey that’s really good!
May I point out something?, the blue building could use a little bit of aerial perspective, or any kind of depth technique, because at the moment it could look like the blue building might be on top of the white building, or at least part of it, looks really close.
But that’s just my opinion!, really good matte painting :arteest:
I think you might be right, struggled with that back building and thought the atmospherics might push it back a little. But not enough.
Thanks a lot for the feedback!
The lighting looks a bit inconsistent. You have a semi-overcast sky with the sunlight back-lighting the scene (based on how the clouds are lit), but your scene has elements that don’t look like they are mainly back-lit. Overall your frontal lighting looks a bit too strong and contrasty for a back-lit scene.

Thanks Lunatique, yes it was an overcast day (being Vancouver) and the sky was just grey and dull so I tried something a little more interesting for impact. Might be a bit much though
Thanks for the feedback!
