N-Dynamics issues

#1

Hi Folks!

I was just experimenting some stuff with N-Particles and found some strange results.

I took a clean quad sphere and make particles collide with passive collider, all just works fine nice collisions.

I was just afraid after adding triangles and making the passive collision mesh more pentagon or maybe tessellated I found the interactivity becomes weak and n-particles they do react but the force of collision and physics got pretty weak.

Any guess why was happening is this is quite an obvious with maya n dynamics.

Sir Duncan wants to have a call from you !

My guess is you’ve tassalated the sphere when it already had nRigid shape on it and made it again a passive collider that way making interpenetration of 2 nRigid shapes and giving you wrong result. Did you make the more dense sphere from sratch or you reused the original sphere?

Hi Dear thanks for Reply,

In my case i got two different sphere and the tessellated one is made to rigid passive collision later .

The already made passive collision object was never tessellated.

In fact you can try out a simple test and let me know its responses for n-particles.

If I got you right you:

  1. Create 2 spheres - A and B.
  2. triangulate B sphere and add divisions to it.
  3. make both spheres nRigid.
  4. Add nParticle emitter.

… and the behavior on collisions with sphere A and B is different? Correct? if so, my both spheres work the same.

Could you provide an example of the error you’re getting? Image, video?
