Really a good job you are doing here!!
Your style is really strong, and your figures rock!!

Show us more  please

Thanks very much Alice!
Your kind words are greatly appreciated!

Just puchased Fable 2 the other day for my 360. What a cool game!
Numerous hours have been consumed by this game in the brief time since purchase. Figured it would be fun to do a somewhat overly dramatic representation of my character.

Congrats to this release. Nice sketches - they all could be buddys of my sea hunter…

#145

conrgratulations man, it looks really stylish. the characters are great fun, awesome expressions!

#146

Thanks VISEone and Jpedro!
Always love getting comments from you folks!

Been trying my hand at the Panel of the Week challenge over at conceptart.org. Have done four rough page layouts to star with. Next step is to properly refine the character designs and then start working up the proper pages.

Redfrog, congrats on getting an award…I want a Fish Bank now, what a novel idea! Also, those comic pages are amazing, very well developed and action-packed. I need to visit conceptart more often and see what’s happening over there. In any case, awesome work

#148

Thanks Dan!
Yeah you should definitely put a thread up on conceptart so that those guys can get a chance to check out your stuff dude! Might find a slightly better traffic flow through the sketchbooks there too!
Well mind you it would be hard to beat the amount of views you have on your cg thread tho!

Been truckin along with a bit more comic art of late. Really getting into it. Has probably been inspired of sorts by the storyboards i’ve been doing at work lately as well.

Inspired by the likes of Spy vs Spy and Itchy and Scratchy, Rabit versus Bear is a bit of silent humour (well i like to think so) focusing on the destructive battles of these two lil characters. I wanted to go for something distinctly stylistic and try and achieve something that would make you smirk rather than bust a gut laughing.
I have actually dedicated a blog to it where i post the latest installments and hopefully down the track focus on all things Rabbit and Bear like.

Very cool man, i’m loving those panels! The progressions from thumbnail sketches to final inks are inspiring to say the least, you have the system down for sure!! The whole rabbit v bear thing is cool too, i could easily see those little strips as t-shirts or something. Thanks for sharing all your hard work!

My first sketch for fun for 2009.
Have had a bit of a break a feel really refreshed.
Thought i’d start my first illustration for fun using a loose high contrast style. feels good to be back into it.
Sketched directly into Photoshop using wacom.

#153

Feels good to be back into the swing of things for 09. Made a resolve to do more energised pics this year with a looser feel to the linework and more sense of movement.
Working completely in photoshop.

#154

Feeling pretty good about the new year, and enjoying this loose approach to my illustrations. I think with this piece it helps with the feral nature of the subject.
Once again drawing puerly in photoshop and try to keep contrast up and linework loose.

#155

Trying to make an effort this year to try and churn out one piece a day. Really want to try and devlop this loose style and see where I can take it.

#156

I love the loose style, it would be great to see a new pic from you each day! Keep it up!

#157

Thanks Zyrinx!

Churned this one out during my lunch break.

Wanted to do my own homage to the great battles that spiderman fought with venom through my childhood induction to comic books.
Wanted a real sensation of chaos and fury, with spittle and rubble whirling about the combatants. The agility of spidy and the freight train fury of venom.

#158

wow redfrog… you’re on a roll again

Love the bounty hunter… great with the weather lines effect.

Keep up the once a day!

#159

Thanks Matsman!

Will try and keep up the once a day sketch!

Something different to my usual approach. I normally seem to always put full characters into my illustrations which i think sometimes means that i lose the opportunity to really get a feel for the personality or emotion of the character.
Hence i figured i’d try something differnt and zoom right in on the face.

Todays sketch. Tried some different brushes, looser technique and looked at trying to capture an environment and feel.
