Been mucking around with a sketch of my new car. Never drawn many cars so this was a real novelty. Lot of fun.

Trying to get a bit of car drawing practice. Read that Dave Deal got the Pixar artists to draw cars into mango shapes when doing the Cars movie.
Tried an attempt at what i guess that technique was in the bottom sketch.

I think with the drawing them into a mango shape really forces you into making them somewhat organic characters. Was quite surprising when i tried it. Would have loved to have seen some of the segments where Dave Deal taught this technique to the Pixar artists!

Its been a while since my last post, or even since i last did a drawing for fun. Work has been full on, and to be honest a bit mentally taxing.
But anyway, i’ve just managed to scribble down a quick sketch of my baby. hopefully this is a sign that the motivation is coming back! :slight_smile:

Been awhile since my last post.

Apologies for that. Lots on at the moment. Unfortunately can’t post any of it at the moment but hopefully later down the track i’ll have the opportunity to show what i’ve been working on with these projects.

Have had a brief chanvce to do this little sketch tho. Its a work in progress. Its also a bit odf a change from all the car illustrations of late

i have to say, that their isn’t a single drawing in this thread that im not in love with. you make a great blend between art and comedy. i especially love the the little cartoon with the rabbit vs the bear cartoon… true awsomeness :smiley:
