This post was declined by CGtalk because of the poor quality, and was suggested to post it here, After having seen it on different angles, I thought I should get critiques and lets see why it happened
After having problems getting uploaded the image her, I am providing a link,
Please do help out so I can know what was severely poor about it.
If you submitted them all in the same session, then you are getting rejected because you are flooding the submissions cue. Did you get a notice along with the rejections telling you that you were flooding the image gallery?
Basically, you can only submit one image at a time, get it judged, and then submit another one after it’s been accepted/rejected.
Thank you Robert for replying
Sir,
Actually there was a Gap of days between each submission (the Joker’s one was posted in September and got rejected, the Zombie one was posted in March and the Top one was posted this month), and the reason I got for the rejection was poor quality and Artistic mistakes, (mistakes and reason in details wasn’t mentioned)
All of these three images I painted through a proper progress, I sketched them from memory, no Image manipulations, used various textures and brushes, each one of them took 5 to 6 hours of work, the reason also suggested me to post here for critiques, I was curious myself therefore I posted them here.
But thanks again there could be thousands of problems with these images, its just my intention for these images wasn’t making them photo-realistic, which can be seen in them, they are just concept paintings, so if honorable moderators at cgtalk rejected them for some reason, there should be a sound purpose, thats what built up my curiosity.
Thank you again for replying and for kind feedback
I didn’t get to vote on these images, but if I were to give you a critique, this is what I would say:
The way you choose selective detailing doesn’t work well because it doesn’t seem to follow any logic, or even artistic logic. You’re not basing it on the focal plane like the way a camera lens does, nor are you basing it aesthetic appeal, or how the human eye jumps from one important element to another when looking at human faces/bodies. You would put really sharply detailed textures or really bright highlights in areas that don’t really warrant any special attention, and they compete against the areas that really should be given some TLC.
There are also areas where you seem to not draw any distinction between expressive brushwork and sloppy brushwork done on purpose to emulate expressive brushwork. There is difference. Expressiveness does not mean contrived brush economy or speed. You might want to read about it in detail here: http://forums.cgsociety.org/showpost.php?p=7290573&postcount=4
