I saw the movie Knowing last night. Very well executed shots. I liked the Plane crash scene and the initial title scene zooming on the cities and you could see the planes flying within the clouds.
Very good matte painting work.
Where did you get the photographic reference for the firewall scene. It is pretty amazing.
Also the movie was shot on RED camera. Did you get to work on the footage ?

About knowing:
whole plane crash was mine shot. From begining (he is in the car) till end (the people take him ou) It was so huge amount of work. I;ve been working on it approx. 8.weeks (of course changing to another shots for break) Very big panoramatic matte painting in the background, adding cars, destroying the cars, add pieces of destroyed plane, fires, paint the ground where the plane crash + add the haze for better feeling of depth etc. Also the intro + end of movie was very fun work. On top-down shots, whole planet matte painting, close up etc.
Really good fun!

References? We had a libary of references. Some of them I took outside the work some we had in the office.
If did I get work on the footage? Not exactly if you talking about shooting the shots. If you talking about matte painting, that of course
The plane crash scene is so real it will get a award for sure. It had a very emotional impact.
When you say panoramic mattepainting like a cyclorama. where you have 360 degree cyclindrical mattepainting. Is it just for the sky or that also includes the horizon.
For the explosions when the plane crashes did they do practical explosions on the site and comped it in.
Some really nice new work there mate! Congrats! I couldnt access the matte paintings on Knowing tho? All the images appeared with the red ‘x’…
Anyway, the Australia work looked really strong, awesome stuff!

I had the same problem as Nick , really strong work you have there. Get those Knowing mattes up soon, I am going to see it tomorrow night and i want to see yours in action!

I am sorry :sad: I have to wait untill the movie will be on DVD. After that Ill put it back. I am sorry for inconvenience my friends. I can say I did the intro with another guys (top-down Earth + close up’s), whole plane crash since he-N.Cage is in the car - till end, some forest shot, begining of subway entrance and end shots at the end of the movie + planet earth
I don’t really know when DVD come up, but rather I’ll wait. Do you have any idea when it will come up on DVD? :argh:

Ou, yes, its still under testing because not on al computer screens is working perfectly and sometimes it shows destroyed sorry about that. Also about Knowing stuff. They will be there soon I just have to wait a bit.Thank you very much!
Nice work man, the matte painting work on Australia was very nice
Just saw Knowing last night and liked the airplane crash scene as well. CG flames could have been a bit better, but the matte painting was excellent.

Hey Kbarts! thank you my friend for nice comment! Yes, I`ll put higher res. for now is just a temp stuff there. About the matte (1st line, no.3) this is a matte I did with another colleague Damien Thaller. I did the top-down matte for projection than foreground part and the sky. The ships are base models and I haven’t touch them, but I can upload the final-final for mouse scroll over. that’s good idea! Thank you my man!
