My New Lighting Reel from Blur
Thank you for sharing Darryl. Awesome stuff.
I’ve always wonder. For someone getting started with lighting, what’s the best way to find subject to light for our reel? The scenes in Lighting Challenges for example wouldn’t fit the genre Blur does in general, should one worry about that if they wish to apply to Blur?
If your looking for good examples to show you how to light the information is out there. I personally looked into practical photography and lighting techniques. another good reference are movies are movies. If you have a project and they is a specific look you are going for, try and find reference to go off on. This will help tons. To be honest even if your not on a project if you see a good movie and some really good lighting shots take a screenshot and start building a reference folder. As for Blur when I worked there while they do sometimes hire just lighting artist they they tend to try to find artist that are generalized across the board. Scene assembly at Blur is there version of a “Generalist”
