Multiple Edge/Split Loops?

Any way to split multiple equidistant edge loops through an object in a single command? I know the cut tool can split multiples but seems tedious to select all the edges, then vertices and re-cut etc. Thx

In two steps. Select Ring (alt-r), Cut (x) with cut opts set to # required loops.
