mudbox with black viewer window?

#1

okay, so I try mudbox 2009 with an older machine to see how it works.
I open it up and UI looks fine but the viewer window is completely black. Can’t seem to see anything and I’m wondering why since Mudbox 1 worked great. note: I’m a noob with mudbox so it could be something I’m doing.
Is it the drivers, vid card, RAM or something else like all my lights are off by default? Yeah, I know it doesn’t meet the req specs but I should still be able to see SOMETHING!
Anyone know for sure?

If you search through the posts below you will see a whole host of folk with similar problems.
It does actually come down to system specs and setups.have a read below for relevant info.

A driver update usually fixes that issue.

yep, I updated the driver to 169.xx and now I can see everything.
Unfortunately I get about 1.6 frames a second rotating around a simple plane. Old hardware is next to useless with this version.

Thanks for your help guys

Hiya I think I got a problem, similar to this one, but i am not 100% sure if it really is the same or if it is the same and something more… well

I get a black 3dview screen, i can’t move inside the 3dview screen, i keep getting an error up “warning: some operations are not supported by the graphics card. please check the minimum system requirements or update your drivers. se the logfile for more details.” well you see this seems to be really easy…

But i have uppdated my drivers for my graphics card 3 times in a row now and nothing changes and it seems like they were updated enough first time too…

I can move in the ui exept in the 3d view window. And heres another funny thing, I think my system speccs are good enough…

/cry I really wanted to use this program.

Could I please get some sort of help^^ I don’t gota clue of what to do anymore :frowning: i have reinstalled it plenty of times already. If I wont get it to work soon might move over to zbrush wich interface seems to be a mess  and mudbox is probly a lot better to use with 3dmax than zbrush…

Thanks for reading this at least
