Mudbox 2009 Painting Capabilities demo video

QuickTime online viewing link

PC Download version

Here a video to demo mudbox’s capabilites as a painting program I’ve been asked to do. It covers some of the its plus points in comparision to other software and what I consider its strong points from a texturing point of view.

Its not meant to be a conprehensive list, more of a overview. it shows the texturing of a enviromental model with multiple diffuse, spec and bump maps. If this was to be used as an in game asset obviously this texture size would be cut down and a tileable bump used instead.

There is now a new version in the 1st post with versions for online viewing , download version, and an Apple iPhone version. Some people had issues with the sound on certain configs of machines… so I felt it was best to change format from now on.

Thanks Wayne, much appreciated video. You had mentioned that there is a service pack coming. DO you know if Mudbox will have the ability for the user to be able to paint multiple maps all at the same time with one brush stroke? I would like to be able to paint bump and specular maps simultaneously. This is something that 3D Coat does well but I am still holding out to see if Mudbox will have this capability.

Sory to be akilljoy but if information is not in the public domain yet or permissoin given I can’t talk about new features. But yu can expect the clone brush, ao baking (and viewport improvements for filters) and a fair bit more.
