Hi folks,
I’m having a problem with MR Subdiv schemes not being evaluated during render time (Mental Ray, Maya 2014).
The problem is only occuring with meshes that have a MR Subdiv node applied, and are then referenced into a scene (i.e., my rig has all my MR Subdiv nodes set up so I can drop it into different scenes).
After referencing the rig into a blank scene file, however, the subdiv nodes won’t evaluate, and I get just straight level-0 geometry.
Has anyone experienced a problem like this?
Do I need to just connect the subdiv nodes in each native scene where the rig will be rendered? That’s doable, but very inconvenient.
Some more details:
First I thought it was a conflict between two “mentalrayItemsList” nodes (one is automatically generated in the scene once you reference the rig), so I deleted the List node from the rig, and that didn’t work.
Any leads or thoughts would be much appreciated guys. Didn’t seem to find much written about this online or in the forums…
