mP Glue: Rigid/Simplified Binding Rollouts

#1

I’m having trouble understanding it.

It only matters when i want my objects to break?

On box#2 documentation it talks a lot about “main anchor” of a binding. It means that some groups of particles have a main anchor point and, with those options, i can control where it will be?

#2

All glue binds are based off of the particles pivot point. So if you switch your Display op to something like Asterisk the glue bind, when using Rigid, will start/end at the point.

Which is in turn why it is sometimes important to reset XForm in order to get particle to behave correctly.

Thx John, but that’s the reason i’m not getting it. If the anchor point is always at the center what does this “Binding Anchor Placement” means?

#4

Hmm I actually haven’t used it in years. It is supposed to be based on the average of two centers, or the along the vector of two closest surfaces to the centers, or the mass average centers of the particles. I just ran through it and it does not appear to be working or at least doing anything visual that it should be doing to indicate that it is working.

Oleg would have to clarify what or why it is doing or not doing.

yep, I also did some tests here and couldn’t notice any diference.

thx for trying John.
