Hello!
I just tried opening a modo file created with Modo for mac, insinde Modo for windows.
It wasn’t able to read it. Is there some tool to convert the files? Can I change the header manually? I guess exporting as an obj might or might not work, but I would like avoid that.
anyone know how this works?
Moving Modo files between Modo for PC / MAC
I have not been having any problems moving files created with modo either to or from the mac.
what are you saving the file as?
okay, if it works for you then it must be something else, cuz I had the same problem with some maya files that i migrated at the same time. I sent them from the mac to the pc by mail so maybe my crappy webmail corrupts files, i know this has happened before with ms word-files
i’ll just burn it on a disc next time. thanx!
It used to be the case with Mac OS9 that Mac files had two components… the data fork and the resource fork. Sometimes when these were emailed to Windows users the data fork and resource fork would become separated. “Zipping” the files, as Dion suggested, or using Stuffit compression on the Mac would ensure that the whole file was transported.
I think that with Mac OS X, Apple has been trying to move away from splitting files into a data and resource fork, but I think Dion’s suggestion would still work.
okay, thanx for all the tips, i’ll definietely try zipping it.
Didn’t know about the windows friendly option, have only been using mac for a couple of weeks, but it won’t work on my webmail though…
will try zipping this on monday

Here’s a Mac OS X tip…
You can Zip a file by control+clicking on the file, which will bring up a menu. On the menu select “create archive”, and it’ll Zip it.
Alternately, you can use Stuffit compression, but you’ll need Dropstuff and Stuffit Expander software.
