How to move selected sections in different layers all together?
I extremely need this function because I often need to move UV wire and associated texture and keep them relative position.
Move selected sections in different layers all together?
no. you can’t do that
if you explain a bit more maybe there’s a workaround. post a screen shot if you can
For example, I have two layers, one is the red wire frame and another is the texture I painted.
Then, I need to exchange the position of the head and the body together with them wire frames.
I know that I can detach copies from them separately, and then move the head with it’s wire or move the body with it’s wire. It’s doable.
But when I have multi-layers of the texture, for example, one for basic color, one for highlight, one for shadow, one for detail, and so on. Now I impossible (or too verbose to do) to detach them one by one.
So I want to make a selection and move all the selected areas in different layers altogether(keep the layers, don’t merge).
okiee
i think the best way to do this is by using “layer via cut” option. do this on both layers and you’ll have 4 new layers with 1 head wire and 1 head color and 1 body wire and 1 body color. you can then group together the head layers and the body layers
move them around freely then merge together the wires with wire layer and same for the color
i think this is the best way. also it gives you better control since you can rotate. rescale whatever
cheers
ps. always backup your file just in case. can’t remind enough
I agree with Creeto - create each part of the UV texture as a layer group - an added benefit is that you can then <CTRL>-click those groups and use <CTRL><T> to transform them any way you need easily.
