I’m trying to move a prop in such a way that it will snap to the grid (at zero Y) with the surface of a prop. Now I can get it to snap in the middle of a prop, but I want to snap it onto the underside of the prop. Some software has a “move to ground” option, where it will treat Y as an inpenetrable surface where the prop rests on. Any idea on how I can get this to work?
You can change the position of the manipulator. Select a component on the base of your prop and choose Set Object Axis from the selection menu. You can then snap the base to the ground. You could also use Manipulator edit mode (m) to position the manipulator wherever you like.
