motionbuilder viewport capabilities?

#1

just wondering if motionbuilder does support any fancy pixelshaders in the viewport? i know it can handle normal mapping to a certain extent. also, can MB6 do this or was that stuff introduced at a later date? having a project lined up that deals with MB, i’d like to be prepared.

seems, i’m currently locked out of the better part of the knowledge base.

yes - MBpro supports CGfx shaders. Normal map rendering in the viewport with 3 lights is especially nice. Standard does not have this feature.

that sounds good! but this means the pro version can do more in this regard than standard, right? i had a dabble at MB6 at another place and while i was able to add normalbump, color etc and light my scene, i couldn’t find any option to load in transparency and specularity/specular color maps. guess this stuff is only handled in the newer and bigger versions then?
