Motion Blend Problem

#1

I’m using Motionbuilder 6.0 Professional
I’m trying to follow the 3DBuzz VTM2: MB_i2_07_TracksTakesCuts

When I Alt-LMB drag the skeleton into the MotionBlend window and activate the right take the Ghost doesn’t match up with the skeleton like it ought to.
I have a screenshot attached.

I’ve searched through different forums and the manual but I haven’t found a solution so help is much appreciated since this is driving me and a collegue of mine crazy.

Hi man

I’m having the same problem as your having, I’m wondering, did you ever come across a solution or an explanation to this?

Thanks in advance

I have no such problem. Everything seems to be ok. Be sure to disable all constraints, control rig and plot animation on bones.

If You could attach a scene, I could take a look at it.

Thanks hrydek for replying

How can I send you the scene file? It’s 300KB Rared.

Thanks in advance

IRONIC3D: No, I haven’t solved it yet.
You can use Story by the way for a lot of the things that MotionBlend was used for.

hrydek: I will send you a file to have a look at. Thanks.

I received your file and noticed that is using Degrees of Freedom, so skeleton is imported from maya. I disabled them and got the same animation as it was in Motion Blend ghost. So that was the problem. I could reterget it to another skeleton without DOF and it shall work.
Motion Blend id old Motionbuilder feature and as I see it slowly becoming obsolete by story, but it is useful sometimes. It seems that it doesn’t support DOF as it was introduced in version 6 of MB.
