MoText Axis 'Middle'

#1

I’m on R15, and I have a pretty straightforward project that is about 90% MoText objects. When placing them, I switched their “align” setting to ‘Middle’, as that made them easier to position and scale. However, almost every time I re-opened the scene, each of the text axis’ would switch back to ‘left’. The toggle itself would still say “Middle”, but all of the text elements’ positions would be completely out of whack, and the axis of each object would clearly be on the left hand side of each text element.

In order to fix it, I just had to scale each of the objects by a hair, and the alignments would snap back to their correct ‘Middle’ position. Or, I’d switch the ‘Align’ setting back to left, and then back to middle.

This became quite a hassle, especially when I had to open the scene up on another computer for rendering - to the point where I had to go through and change all the alignments back to “left” just so they wouldn’t move on me.

Unfortunately, I can’t recreate the problem in a new project file. It just seems to happen.

Has this happened to anyone else?

I had this happen in R13, was a bug.
I would suggest sending the file to tech support so that it can be reported.

Does the issue remain if you copy/paste to a new scene?

It’s been very finicky - sometimes the issue persists, sometimes it doesn’t. I can’t replicate it on demand (the worst kind of bug).

But I can say that it only happened with “middle” justified text, and never with “left” justified.

FYI - Still happens. Grrr. I need to report it officially.

Yeah also happened to me, I even tried with xpresso to set the alignment with it but no luck.
