There is an option to “Include lights in all render layers by default”
Which is fine except that the morons at Autodesk made this feature save in your Preferences, and NOT in your scene.
So you build the scene one way, and on a render farm it renders the other way, depending on how its preferences are set. I figured this out a few months ago, and it just ruined my supervisor’s renders today.
Also today I found out you can’t export AOV nodes. Select the node, Export Selected… you get nothing. If you have need for a custom one, you’ll be making it from scratch in every single scene.
This is sheer, blithering idiocy. I mean, there’s chickens smarter than this. Why the hell does any studio use this random-crashy, never rewritten, 90’s workflow garbage.
