Modo Install Issues

#1

I purchased and dowloaded Modo last night.
Like an idiot, I ran the App before running the LK command.
Quit the App… then ran the LK command (just double clicked it-is that correct?)
When I try to run Modo, all I get is the Menu across the top of my monitor.
No workspace. None of the menu items work. Tried ‘New…’ ‘Open File…’, I even tried the help menu items and none of the Docs would work. All I have is the menu across the top of my workspace, and nothing else. Any ideas?

Hey Engass,

Ive never heard of such an error. It shouldnt matter that you tried to launch modo prior to your license install. Please send an email to dtracy@luxology.com so that we can work with you to resolve the issue. Once we get the resolution we can post to the forum so that we solve it for anyone else that might run into it. Haven’t ever heard this one before though.

Thanks!

MODO is now installed and running. Here’s what happened. I had a 2nd Video Card installed in my machine that at one point was running a 2nd display. Currently there is no 2nd display attached. When I upgraded to Panther OSX.3 some time back, I noticed that even if there is no monitor attached to the 2nd Card, it still behaves as if there is. Creating a ‘void in space’-in my case to the left of the main display. So, apparently what was happening was that the MODO menu would appear at the top of my Main Display, but the interface was in this ‘void’. last night, after trying again to re-install the App, I removed the 2nd card from my machine, and Voila!, MODO appeared.
Here’s what is strange… which made me think it wasn’t the 2nd card. Before removing the card, when all I could see was the menu, when I tried quitting the App by hitting Command-Q or tried accessing any of the Help files which now launch in Acrobat, nothing happened?!? Anyway, all set now. Thank you Brad and David for your help!
