I wanna know,while exporting from modo… to maya how do u export weight maps…
I m trying to export from modo to Maya but weight maps are not getting exported…
Someone plz help?
Modo Export Problem
U can avoid exporting weight maps to Maya.
You can just freeze your geometry to a standard polyghonal mesh , within Modo and export it to a .obj file.
Since every rendering engine need a polyghonal geometry to render properly , you don’t need to export weight maps 
I think he actually WANTS to export weightmaps.
As for the solution, I haven’t got a clue.
Bulzae: Unfortunately this cannot be done. You could export the weight maps within the .lwo format (if I remember correctly) but as Maya has no way of importing weight maps it serves little purpose. For the moment all you can do is as jamesvalue suggested. Freeze your geometry at a subdivision level you can work with and export it as an .obj or .ma file.
