Mist at the bottom of a Waterfall.

#1

Hey all,

I am using 7.4 and trying to make a nice misty effect at the bottom of a waterfall. I have a metacloud at the bottom but you can always pick out the defined edge of the sphere for the clouds.
I have mucked around with the cover setting in conjunction with the amount and roughness and density etc etc but cannot seem to make a not so uniform edge for the clouds / mist.
Has anyone a technique for this sort of effect or some basic tips on what controls I should concentrate on to try and get this looking more convincing.
Yep I have hit the Geekatplay tut also where the metacloud was used as steam from the lava flow, just not the look I am after.

Thanks, would really appreciate some direction with this one.

Would be good to see what you have so far.

Sometimes the solution is not ONE MetaCloud but several overlaying. Then you have a more defisue border and maybe the effect you are looking for.

it was the type of cloud I was using. When I loaded up the furry or fuzzy one and tweaked the crap out of the settings I pretty much have what I am after.

I will post an image in the portfolio when it is complete.
