missing file warning

when AE warns me of a file that is missing (because I - changed its directory),
how do I tell it its new location (instaed of removing it and inserting the new file)

File --> Replace

You can also double-click the footage item and navigate to the new location. If you’ve moved several items in the same relative way, After Effects will relink those, too.
