Now meshing…

Original poly size of mesh was o.o4 reduced it to 0.033
Filtering on, relaxation o.o5
Steps 128

For the emitter blend factor is 0.73
radius was originally 0.0433 reduced it 0.038
Speed stretching On
Max scale 2.0

Min 0.1
Max 02
Velocity 3.0

FInd it useful to disable view port, and deleting the cache when re-simulating, some times close realflow and open it again to speed up the simulations and meshing turn off build.

My PC is seriously on its last breath, but am gona do one more attempt and try to bump up the realflow sim to 4 and add a floor so the particles don’t look so broken up and not dissapear so soon.

Will be using Maya Software to render out the water seen 197 frames each take 1 minute to render…MR takes 8 minutes, VR takes the same at Med settings…

This is just test, nothing fancy

I added keys to the zombie walk at begning of sequence, should be an improvement from the previous version trying to shy away from overall stiffness…it is really a big challenge this zombie walk.

Please comment if you can, I am not sure I will be able to do more than one more render pass after added comments, gearing to press the render button for the character in two/three days time, wil now commence rendering for the lighting only.

FYI - Realflow will not be included in the movie as it is taking too long on Maya, but when I used it on 3Ds Max in an earlier animation it was much faster.

Here is the second sequence, I forgot to cycle my noise map so have to re-render, but overal ok with the result, took only 30 to 50 seconds per frame to render.

I also tweaked the body movement trying to make character less stiff.

Main dance sequence now finished with music.

Next step, will be working on the RedBull Can sequences and shoot the video footage to tie everything up.

I re-rendered about 500 frames three four times, specialy the strobe sequence was tough to acheive.

Only the first 200 frames are Vray (the intro with fog), the rest is Maya Renderer.

Other than the blue part with the fog on the floor which took 6 minutes per frame (around 200+) the other Maya Software renderer took 30 seconds to a minute per frame…I really wanted to carry on using the fog, but I have no time to render, starting a new job in a couple weeks, so I had to fake it using the spot lights volumetric.

THe Vray took 4 minutes per frame.

IF possible please comment, am happy to re-render some changes, its my first character animation, so all crits welcome…cheers.

made the character look a the can before the kiss and tweaked the hands wanted to make movement of the female more dominant as they walk.

Lighting to be added later (planning to shoot around a park or near a river here in Beijing and put them in a real world setting…but weather is really awful…visibility is 1 mile today.

Now working on the final scene which will complete the animation of the characters.

video is here http://youtu.be/6MYQafJi67g

I used a back plate and an hdr with a couple of point ligts then rendered a
Shadow/Beauty Pass and each item on its own then composited in after effects to to test out the effect before pressing the render button.

Used mental ray.

Here is a test render with the animation,

Since I have to rush for time, I couldn’t make the cushion or fake someone moving the cusions or duvet move so I decided to keep the models still and only make the female make her eyes and fingers move.

I kept the original layers from Photoshop that I had composited and imported them in After effects saving me having to render all the frames.

This way I only had to render the female only.

It would have taken 3 minutes per frame for the male, 5 minutes per frame for the shadows and 2.3 minuted for the male per frame x131 frames…

here is the link.

Today weahter has cleared up so I’ll be shooting the intro sequence.

Went out to shoot, a friend took the picture as well as the hdri.

Might make the overall feel more cartoony, not sure yet.

Am pleased to say that I have finally managed to finish the animation and uploading it to Youtube at the moment.

I am moving house tomorrow, and starting a new job next week, so not sure if I will have time to make changes, but I will upload it tomorrow and will be open for comments.

Its my first character animation, so go easy if possible…cheers!

Below is the link of the final video, I added some NightVision effects. The visor was done from scratch in photoshop then imported the layers.

I found all the sounds on freesounds.org and recorded my voice after changing into a couple of characters using morphVox. I used an other sound software call Audacity to do the walkie talkie effect.

Photographie of the video and HDRI was taking by How Hwee Young, her works can be viewed at http://www.howhweeyoung.com
