Merging to Lightwave

Using MB7 - did a simple test, plotted to rig, plotted to skeleton, exported. Now when I merge back to my Lightwave 8 scene, my charactor flips onto it’s back, and there is only 30 frames of animation that come through.

Thoughts?

Hi

does your character have a reference null? If so, check its rotation and zero the hpb channels

as for the 30 frame limit when you plotted the motion in MB, check that the timeline is set

for the length of the animation.

So many times, I’ve got my animation in story but failed to set

the actual timeline to the correct length and only the portion that is set by the timeline is

plotted

Check your default scene isn’t only 30 frames, a merge will only show upto what your current scene imilt is.
What happens if you alter your LW ‘last frame’ setting?

Also, when merging, the REFERENCE null gets rotated, if you select the reference null at frame zero, choose ‘y’ for rotation, make sure it reads 0,0,0. I think a merge brings it in at something like 0,45,90.
