merge node in DF4 demo ?

I’ve just downloaded the DF4 demo which looks absolutly great !
My problem is when I tried to use the merge node to combine particles and a background image, the Alpha Gain and Burn In sliders have no effects on my particles.
What is the problem ?

It depends on the particle type, and color values entered into the emitter and/or the spawn tools.

What are your settings and what is the desired effect you are looking for?

Hi,
I resumed working on my fire effect.
I feel stupid but I found the problem, I just forgot to change th Apply Mode to Add in the Emitter Style tab.
Now I’ve got what I want.
I keep on working on the flames…
