Hi everyone! I am a student who just starts to learn Maya since the beginning of 2015. Right now I am working on my student project which needs to create a shader that shows moss on the top of the tree bark.
I used the technique from https://vimeo.com/23032246. But I am using tillable moss texture and separate cutout opacity map and displacement map. But I don’t know how to connect cutout opacity with different uv set. Because the displacement map is supposed to connect with my texture, and cutout opacity(Alpha) connect with a separate uv set
Here is my concept of design, i would be really appreciate if you take some time to give me some help!

Mental ray displacement map & cutout opacity

If you’re using mental ray, use the mia_material_x for your diffuse/texture shader. In the mia_mat_x, under Advanced, is a completely separate Cutout Opacity node. This is separate from the transparency, translucency, or anything else. It takes a black and white alpha channel and only renders what’s white.
