I’ve been working on this short animation for a couple of weeks now. And I have been getting critiques from friends. I’m almost done with it. I just wanted an outside opinion. Thank you.

Hi Josh!
I hope these pictures can explain a lot.
If you are unclear,
Hyper-extension means the foot control is placed too far till the legs become straight and stiff and the knees pop.
Twining means the posing of the left side mirrors the right side. You want to avoid such symmetrical posing to get better silhouettes.

Good Luck, Looking forward to your improved WIP next time.

After making the changes that Desmond suggested, I think the fall looks a lot better.

The spacing of the fall looks better, but why did you start her out in the middle of the frame? I liked it better when you started out with her toe poking into the frame. Adjusting your spacing doesn’t mean you have to change your “golden poses”, just the in-betweens.

And another thing - Weight shift. Her hips need to rock from side to side she she steps, You have to shift her weight to the left foot before you can lift your right foot up. I can see a hint of weight shift on the 2nd step but I feel its not enough.

Shoot reference of you jumping from a table. You would notice there would be lots of nice follow through and overlap in your spine, shoulders and neck. How much of that drag and delay you want to put in is up to you, she is part machine after all.

Yeah! carry on!
