this is the latest and greatest
when I transfer my animation from MotionBuilder (7.5) to Maya (7.0), with each transfer, the import deletes ONE blendshape node of my character (even though I use EXCLUSIVE merge). if I do 3 imports and I have 4 bs nodes, 3 will be deleted, one will remain (for the next import, hehehe). I don’t have anything fancy on the character’s geometry, all the facial stuff is on a separate geometry that I add as a blendshape. I only have my skin cluster node and a parallel blender containing my blendshapes
but what I had to do before innitially exporting the character to MB was to delete all blendshapes, because the fbx plugin refused to export them and froze (I had to clean up the file, and delete pretty much everything that I didn’t want to use in MB, as the transfer didn’t automatically keep my selection and export what I wanted). anyway, just because my export file is different from the file I use when I import animation, that’s no reason for an exclusive merge not to work…
anybody any ideas???
