I need some advice. I have to say that until now I didnt work with cutting software, so Im an absolute novice. For my project I have 1920 x 1080 footage. I use Maya .iff files and composite them in Toxik.

I dont know which cutting software to use. For now, I couldnt afford sofware like Avid or Premiere.
The “only” thing I want to do is cutting it together, add sound, and sometimes blend sequences together (dissolve), fade out to black, and very basic stuff .Also title sequences and text. All effects and color correction Ill do in Toxik . -
I havent a clue about formats, render options, and compression.
Please help me. I have not much time to dive in that stuff, and need a simple solution, later on I will buy professional software and learn it. Also my computer isnt that good, although it is enough for maya and toxik
The shortfilm is about 3 Minutes long, 30 shots. Every sequence is about 1 GB on average (.iff files),
