Maya to unreal

im just wondering if anyone knows if theres a plugin that will Export Maya binary or some kind of maya file to an unreal static mesh (-- .Ase --) I got the actor X plugin but I cant work out how to export with it :sad:

Anyone know about this? plz ?

Hey man that actor X plugin works great, i’ll see if i can help you out in getting it to work.

First make sure you installed it correctly, just drag the plugin file (actorXTool.mll) into your plugin dir.

Then start up Maya, go into you plug in manager and make sure both loaded and autoload are checked.

then down in the command line type “asmesh”

you should now get a pop-up box, thats it pretty much just check the options you want. i usually just check - selected items only,auto triangulate and obey hard edges. Also note that when you type asmesh in the command line drag select it, and middle mouse button click it onto your toolbar…so you dont have to re-type you can now just click on it, to have the pop-up box appear.

For exporting your staticmeshes just make sure you combine everything you plan on exporting, select it and click or type “asmesh” and your good to go, just choose what dir you want the file exported to. Thats it.
