Maya Fluids vs FumeFX

#1

I´m taking the first steps in fluids.
I´m developing my Final, practical, Project and I want to create different, realistic, shapes of fire.
I´ve already read the post about FumeFX but it as more than 2 years.
So I was hopping someone could give some kind of guidance.
I work mainly with Maya but if I have to, I´ll learn Max to achieve better results if FumeFx is better for this purpose.
Hope someone can guide me.
Thanks.

I´ve found this article right now:
Comparing FumeFx with Autodesk Maya Dynamic System

I recommend you get one or the other to start. Simulators take a little getting use to and their quarks; similar to RealFlow with liquids. Pick a app you would enjoy learning and then dive in; after you learn one of them the other will be easier to pick up; both engines can sim realistic fire, smoke and candle flames well.

Allan has a few DVDs on FumeFX.

Thanks a lot.
I think i´ll start with maya because i´ve never worked in max.
What i´ve learned is that fumefx is a lot easier to learn than maya fluids so if i don´t get some nice results i´ll try to explore fume.
Thanks once again
