Maya "Create Pose" tool.

i wanted to try creating a library of poses for a character. I’m assuming it is the “Create Pose” tool under “Animation” menu. How does that tool work?. I keep getting “Error: Select exactly one character”. Thanks for the help.

~ i’m trying to script a Pose Creator tool where the user can arrange his/her character in a pose and save it and be able to pick different poses the user created. I figure it has to do with the “Create Pose” tool. Any extra help would be grateful.
