Hello, I’m new with Maya, I’m currently doing a monsterrr
I did one side of the monster then Duplicate.
I have some problem to link point together on the symmetrical axis. The merge tool doesn’t work.
Do you know what is solution to get the mesh all attach.
We can see on the picture the problem :

Its a shame this site is pretty much dead when it comes to helping others out, only very few reply. Used to be a much better community.
Anyway, make sure those verts are snapped to center line on grid before duplicating the other side. Then duplicate and merge verts. Check youtube for a tutorial on this, I’m sure theres several on there that can help.
I recommend that you sit through a good amount of beginner tutorials for maya poly modelling, it will help you with avoiding these kind of basic problems.

I get this problem because the duplicate special tool doesn’t merge points and i forgot to merges point along the axis
It’s seems that merge to center is working to correct the situation but the merge tool is not working

Theres a tolerance associated with ‘merge’ that might not be high enough.
Check merge option box and increase strength setting for ‘merge’ to see if that helps.

I’m just using merge to center and it’s work.
Ok it is fairly easy,
You select 2 vertices, you select SCALE tool
Scale on X axis in your case to get 2 vertices closer together, Right click Merge vertices
Repeat for next set of vertex.
If you cannot attach to vertex that are supposed to be at the extremity of an edge, that means those 2 vertices are still too far apart, or, actually 1 or the 2 chosen vertices are part of another face (usually an undesired face that you did not know was there and likely need to be deleted).
