Maya Autodesk Algorithm Control For Subsurface Scattering

#1

Hi I’ve been learning autodesk and at the moment i’m using a book called “Mastering Autodesk Maya 2014.”

It’s telling me to use an Algorithm Control Rollout to change the scaling from centimeters to meters for the subsurface scatterings calculations. My problem is I can’t find the Algorithm Control anywhere. I’ve even tried googling it or searching for something about it on youtube but that hasnt come up with anything either. i’ve been caught up on this for longer than i’d like to admit…

I need to know where to find the “Algorithm Control” plz.

I think what your looking for is the ‘Scale Conversion’ value under the ‘Algorithm control’ tab in your skin shader. If you cant find the tab it should be right under the ‘Lightmap’ tab and above the ‘Link Linking’ tab. I found some links that you may find useful for getting the correct scale conversion.
