just a small question.
An aiStandardsurface material… does anyone have an idea why the base weight is set to .8 by default?


hand made engergy conservation.
if you do a mirror you have to turn base to 1 and metallness to 1 and roughness to 0.


but would that not mean that the specular should then by default be at a .2 value?

regardless, as far as i know, a aiStandardSurface shader is energy conserving by default.


yes… but if you need to break it cause the artdirector wants more red, turn it to 1.
