Maya 2018 Apply Color doesnt work well

#1

Trying to use Maya 2018 to apply colors and alpha to verts for use in Unity3D but viewing these in Maya is close to impossible making it impossible to use. The viewport renderers that I have tried - 2.0, Legacy High Res, and Legacy regular - dont seem to work. I’ve tried every color channel available in the Custom Poly Display Tools but still its not working.

Anyone have any suggestions on tools or plugins to view the results of the of either prelighting or color application to vertices?

Thanks.
John

working fine here ( if you are talking about the viewport display)
just make sure to have a lambert on your shape, other materials form other engines could have some troubles to display them in the viewport

Thanks for the reply. I think you are correct in using a lambert. In my case, I wasn’t actually using a shader/material from another engine but I was using a material I setup in Maya for 2 UVs (one tiled for detail and one laid out from 0 to 1 for lightmapping blended in the layered texture using an over and a multiply) and it is causing major issues with the viewport renderers. Maya doesnt like that to show that kind of complication in the viewport and doesnt handle it well.
