maya 2013 muscle jiggle failure working

Well,this’s weird,i create a simple muscle with “apply muscle stretch deformer” in maya 2013 x64 SP2,no extra modify, just keep default values,set a few keys on star and end locator,hit play,but no jiggle effect happen!i’m pretty sure the jiggle parameters turn on in cMuscleStretch node.

With the same operations, maya of lower version works fine.

Even more weird is that create simple muscle in maya 2013, save as a new file(e.g muscleTest.ma), open with lower version(e.g maya 2011),jiggle work!Continute save this file with lower version,re-open it with maya 2013,it finally works!

What’s problem with maya 2013 x64 SP2?Are you guys ever meet this issue?help!

I’m pretty sure you have your playback-speed set to “Real-time”. If that is the case, Maya will play the scene in whatever framerate you have set, which means that it will skip evaluation of heavy deformers/nodes.

You could either try to do a playblast, do a cache, or try to set the playback-speed to “Play Every Frame, max Real-time”

Thanks for your reply,but it still not works,i try on different machines with default value,but failured :cry: ,maya 2011 and 2012 works fine,is it a bug of maya 2013 x64 sp2? :banghead:

That sounds weird, I don’t have that version so I can’t say if it’s a bug or not, but from what you’re saying it sounds like it could be :shrug:

I think autodesk has removed jiggle from muscle stretch deformer(muscle --> simple muscles --> apply muscle stretch deformer) without any notices, maya 2014 has the same problem.Fortunately, jiggle is retained in muscle spline deformer,so i can choose this for rig. :lightbulb
