Maya 2010 Animation Help

#1

Hello, I was wondering if anyone could help me with a college project. The project is due on monday, so a speedy response would be a life saver.

So here’s the problem: I’ve built and rigged a character using IK handles, the character is a winged biped and has IK handles on both legs, both arms, its tail and each wing. Now animating it normally works fine, but what i’m trying to do is have both wings rotate in time, following a circle motion path.

This part also works fine, the path rotates the wing IK handles nicely, looks pretty neat. But I also want to attach this animated character to a motion path to make it fly around a scene. I’ve tried several things that just produce wierd results. I’ve given it a global controler, attached that to the motion path, but all i get is a crumpled up figure, or something that shoots off in all sorts of random directions. I’ve also tried grouping all the relevant IK handles and bone root source and attaching that to the motion path, which produces the same kind of thing.

If anyone can help with this it’d really save my ass, i’ve been working with maya for about a month now, and while my project seriously exceeds the expectations of my class, i want to make it work like i’ve planned it…

Thanks in advance.
