Max (Skin Morph) not exporting to Motion Builder

#1

I am having an issue with the transfer of my rigged character from 3D Studio Max 2008 into Motion Builder 7.5. During rigging I use a modifier called (Skin Morph) which helps with deforming problem areas like elbows and arm pits. Once I import the .FBX into Motion Builder none of the skin modifier data transfers and all of my deformation still look terrible. I was hoping someone had ran into this similar problem and could help me out. Perhaps the (Skin Morph) modifier can only be used in max and can’t be exported to Motion Builder. All help is greatly appreciated.

skin morph is not supported, check the plugin help file for a list of what is supported. going back with just animatoin to max will be fine though, the deformations will look correct on the orig chracter.

Your absolutely right. Thanks for the great advice. I can just animate the rig in MB and then bring it back to Max to re-apply it to the mesh. This way I can still use the (skin morph) modifier. The only other thing that is in still in question is, will the final animation export properly into the OGRE game engine, or is the (skin morph) still just local to Max?
