Marmoset toolbag & reflections?

#1

I’ve been looking for a quick and simple program for rendering/showing my game related art and came across marmoset toolbag. It offers pretty much everything I need except I can’t find a way to apply reflections to my materials. Anyone know if it’s possible?

The object I’m rendering is a knife and without cubemaps or any kind of reflection the actual blade of the knife looks wrong. I can get the result I need in UDK but I was kind of looking for a quicker way of doing it as it requires more set-up.

Maybe someone knows of some other renderer that I can use for this purpose? Or of a way to do it in marmoset?

Hey Chris,

Presently, there is no way to apply your own reflection map to your material in Toolbag. Your reflections are based on the environment lighting cubemap. If you’re not seeing a reflection, you’ll want to mess with your specular intensity and specular sharpness slider bars – maxing out Specular Sharpness slider will result in a chrome-like reflection.

If you do want to create your own custom image-based lighting environment, you can check out the “Sky Tool” in Toolbag. Instructions on that tool are found in the ToolbagUserManual.pdf.
