Mari or SP ?

Hello there, i have little bit dilema, i wanna start making the game character models, until this time i makes cartoon characters and texturing inside the Zbrush, but in game char tex i guess i need some specific software, i tried the substance painter but there i have little bit problem with exporting maps because i working with 3ds max and im just foud tutorials only for vray output, ( but i dont see this in choose section, i must create this output?) So i watch on a few tutorials for Mari, but with this sw i have no experiences, so i dont know if is good for this direction, if u have any experiences with this softwares i will glad for any advice.

go with substance… mari is aimed for film assets…
or use mudbox… its really easy to learn…

I must try mudbox , because ur not a first person whitch advice me this SW :wink:

I use both and would say go with Painter. I like Mari better but it requires some hefty hardware if you use multiple tiles and get into procedural layers and masks, etc.

I think with Painter and the use of substances you can get a lot of work done much quicker than with Mari.

But like oglu said, Mari is for film and thus is built to handle many many texture maps for a single asset.
