Manipulator sliders - without labels...

I’ve been using 3DS Max for a while now, and wiring up sliders for animation. All of this time though, the labels have never been displayed in the window. I now have a whole rack of sliders which I have to navigate by memory.

Is anyone aware of a global setting which I may have deactivated that could cause this ‘problem’?
