Malevolent mirror mode (3ds max2013)

Hi. I’m new to rigging and animation in general, so I followed a tutorial

My problem is :

I see my verticles either green or blue (no red ones, mesh is symetrical) and I changed the envelopes on one of the side, but when I hit the blue to green paste option of the mirror mode, nothing happens.

Here’s what I tried from the forums so far :

  • make sure everything is world centered (it is)
  • reset XForm
  • delete the key frames on the biped (I animated it to test the skin)
  • select vertices -or not- - or half of them - before mirroring.

Since it doesn t seem to solve my problem, I tried making a basic shape (cube with extrusions)
and apply 2 chains of bones to it (mirrored from the “bone tools” window, not the max symetry tool)
I then skinned it, changed one side, and tried to mirror it, but it still does nothing.

So, either I miss something really obvious in the process or my mirror mode is lazy, or I pissed of some Deity.
