Is it possible what you’re after is just ctrl + T and then “Track To Constraint”? You can make objects or the camera point towards anything that is moving by doing that.

These are my Frogsu character created in Blender. They are 4 and all are seeing the fly which flying.

Just select the object you want the main object to look at. Then shift-select the main object. Then press control plus t. It will automatically add a track-to constraint on the main object.
