Make 2018 UV editor look like 2016 UV editor?

#1

Hi.

Is there a way to make the UV editor in 2018 look like that of the 2016?
I understand they can are already present in the menus but I prefer the 2016 as it is one easy click.

You can see the image below for reference:

Thank you for your time.

you can use a custom shelf and drag some stuff into…
in the uv editor menue --> view --> custom shelf

Hi Oglu.

Thanks for the response. But it is not quite a workaround. For instance, in the old UV shell, there are 6 align commands laid out in the shelf.
Now in the new one, I can only put one universal align button which I have to choose what type of align command.

So basically roughly 3 clicks in 2018 than 1 click only on 2016. :frowning:

Why do they have to remove the shelves :frowning:

cause there is the new uv toolkit on the right…

Oh shoot! I didn’t see it! Hahaha.
Whenever I access the UV, I always use the two panel layout and change the other panel to UV editor.
It turns out I have to go to the UV editing layout itself so the UV toolkit appears.

Thanks again!

Shall we ‘shelf’ this under RTFM?

Its been so long since I’ve seen a RTFM post that it feels new again.

Honestly though, speaking of clicks… I still think the old Hypershade work area and connection editor method was far less clicky than the way the nodes hook up now with spaghetti as well as taking up less space to see what is what. BUT… the new one looks fancy with all the buttons.
