Major texture problem!!

#1

Can somebody please help me ASAP? I usually worked on 3Ds Max 2012 on a PC, but shifted onto 3Ds Max DESIGN 2013 on a Mac! My object is UVW unwhrapped, and the texture has been uploaded onto the material editor. The texture is at 3072x3072. The funny thing is, that on the material editor, the texture appears, but it won’t appear on the model itself. But if I slap in a flat color, the model immediately changes color. I tried importing and rendering in multiple ways, jepg, targa, photoshop, but none works. I tried slapping the same material onto a random mesh, knowing it will come out ugly, exactly the same thing happened. I’m not the best in 3Ds Max, and have to work on a Macintosh, since that’s what company has provided.

Can somebody please help me? Here is a sample image. Thank you!

Instead of a flat color try a checker map. IF the model is unwrapped properly and thus has correct UV coordinates it should render an undistorted checker pattern. if not, then there’s something messed up with your UV coordinates. If it renders with no texture at all I’d check the objects normals. Another thing would be the alpha channel I’d check of the map and how the material utilizes that channel.
Win on a Mac instead of a PC or 3dsMax/3ds Max Design shouldn’t be the issue, I worked on Bootcamp with 3ds Max a lot and the only issue were minor viewport problems with some texture maps, renderings were fine…
