LW render queue

#1

Hi there. I would like to now if there is a feature like the render queue in After Effects. I mean create several files and have LW render them one at the time without having to wait until a scene is finished and load up the other one. If yes, where can i find a good tutorial or is it explained in the manual? Thanx in advance

Hey,

As far as I know the only way to have a render queue in Lightwave is by using Screamernet(LW’s network-render manager). You can use it with just one computer if you only want the queue feature, but it can be difficult to set up. You can find lots of guides on setting it up by searching “screamernet”.

Look for the LWSN controller for LW8 or 9. Basically you just take a few minutes to tell the app where are your config files, then load your scenes into the queue and render away.

If your reference to After Effects means you use it, have a look at the Nucleo Pro 2 plug-in (http://gridironsoftware.com/NucleoPro/) : it qeues both AE and LW scenes.
But you’ll have to pay for it.

Thanx a lot guys… You’ve been really helpful. I think i’ll take a look at the nucleo option. I’ve seen some tuts on screamernet and i really don’t wanna mess around with entering codes… cgtalk rules

amleto is a network renderer for lightwave that uses screamernet but automatically sets up most of it for you. It’s free for use up to 5 “nodes”.

I did a free PC only render queue that’s a bit easier to use…

With nodes you mean computers or cores?

Thanks in advance

PS:
"Realtime update of available nodes

A node (or client) can connect or disconnect himself at any time. As soon as new nodes join the network, frames will be sent to them."

Ok, seems to be clients, great!
